1999 Chandler Reservation Timber Inventory Results

A timber cruise of the 1,500-acre Chandler Reservation was conducted during the summer and fall of 1999. Data collected included: tree species with diameter and height; degree of ice damage; land aspects including access and topography; and wildlife habitat.

The following results roughly summarize the present-day merchantable timber inventory:

TOTAL TIMBER VOLUME:

11.5 Million board feet of sawlogs

14,000 cords of pulpwood

TIMBER WHICH MIGHT BE CUT WITHIN 10 YEARS:

4.7 Million board feet of sawlogs

4,500 cords of pulpwood

TIMBER TO GROW & CUT LATER:

5.0 Million board feet of sawlogs

7,000 cords of pulpwood

TIMBER NOT TO BE CUT - INDEFINITELY:

1.8 Million board feet of sawlogs

2,500 cords of pulpwood
